Bluecog has been running since 2000 and after over 25 years of providing electronic widgets and interfaces we have decided the time has come to wind down.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
A lot has changed since we started. We provided a lot of bespoke and niche products when the AV industry was a lot more specialised than it is now.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
On the lighting side we used to compete with Chinese products that would have weird timing or config issues and were maybe 50% of the functionality compared to the products we produced, but as time has gone on we found ourselves competing in a race to the bottom on price rather than functionality and quality.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Manufacturing in Australia has become more difficult post-COVID with component costs escalating exponentially, and lead times being blown out significantly on the most random of parts. While we modified our designs to allow us to select from multiple parts based on availability, taking the time to QA all the variations was an expensive and time consuming process.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
To be honest I have just lost the passion I once had to run a small business and manufacture products.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Our data sheets and product pages will remain on line, and we still have a small stock of our popular Serial to DMX interface available for sale. Once we run out of stock you will no longer be able to order from the product pages.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
We continue to keep spare parts and are able to service any current products you have, but we will not be manufacturing any new stock.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
